DIYFY Procuration Ritual

For his work marking the 10+1 anniversary of the Curating programme (Stockholm University), Jens Evaldsson chose to put the curatorial role on display before an audience of curators. Work and leisure, professional and DIY, maker movement or fine art? Artists, curators and members of Stockholm Makerspace were invited and brought their own objects connected to hobby and enthusiasm. Identities are discussed and collide in a melting pot of subcultural expressions. Secret agreements and mysterious guests mingle together to playfully problematise questions of creativity and making. And how to relate to the role of artist or curator? In her role as curator, Sarah Guarino Florén invited Jens Evaldsson, who in turn invited Sarah Guarino Florén, to create — together with other creative people — a new reality in an art context where titles and fictional boundaries between curator and artist are blurred.
