Floating School
The idea is to lay the foundation for a non-hierarchical platform where we together discuss and share knowledge and experience tied to the most varied subjects. Participants who wish to are given a budget to organise one course per term for the others. In this way many courses arise that clearly take their cue from what the participants want, and guest teachers can also be hired in if the knowledge is not found within the group.
Floating School is a school in which classrooms, teaching, students, resources and engagement all float. The school is therefore not directly linked to water, but rather to the concept of water and its adaptability — yet with clear aims to minimise administration and maximise the exchange of knowledge with the resources available. It is easily scalable, can adapt to local contexts, and can be implemented in many places around the world.
We want to experiment and investigate; we are always on the move, and we trust chance to carry us on to places we have never been before. Floating School wants to be a social medium, and you are invited to float with us! Floating School was initiated by the artist Jens Evaldsson and the curator Sarah Guarino Florén.
