Makers Parade

All artists and makers were invited to bring a maker or hobby object for a demonstrative parade through Moderna Museet's collection. A maker creates their own knowledge and actively shapes their mental and physical reality instead of consuming or becoming a spectator. The social and intersectional dimensions of the maker world can overturn power relations and cultivate performative agency and self-confidence. Science, technology, art and craft meet in an inclusive melting pot where flat hierarchy, new technology, open source, shared ownership and participatory enthusiasm are the key ingredients. In Jens Evaldsson's performance "Makers Parade" he poses questions about institution, spectator, artwork, artist, subject and object, and the relationships between them.
